Who Are We?
Arkansas Catfish is an entertainment-focused basketball organization from rural Northeast Arkansas. Our mission is delivering the most entertaining, and fan-engaging experience in all of sports through basketball combined with comedy elements.
We feature unique "Catfish Rules" and comedic performances alongside skilled athleticism. Our games pit the Catfish against the Crawdads in live, unscripted competition.
While our games contain planned entertainment aspects, the basketball itself remains authentic and unrehearsed. Real competition, real entertainment.
Our Story
Founder Jaron Hawkins created the concept in 2022 with friends, initially forming a team called the "NEA Dragons" that featured humorous uniforms and celebratory routines.
After two years, that squad disbanded, but the dream never died.
Hawkins later revived his entertainment-sports concept, establishing the Arkansas Catfish to pursue his goal of creating the most entertaining show in sports.
